I had so much fun at one of the cooking classes; we made Vietnamese cucumber salad and spring rolls with two versions of peanut sauce. Mary Beth is knowledgeable and entertaining and gets everyone involved hands on. The entire store is so much fun with a million things to look at and so many things you didn't know you needed! There's also a glass studio in the basement that offers classes. Whew! I'll be back for that next!

The Capers Emporium in New Harmony is a wonderful gift shop, if you are looking for a unique gift for someone or just for yourself, this is the place. They have a large variety of items, kitchen products, plus seasonings and sauces, jewelry, coasters, house decor, and more. It is a fun place to browse through. It is definitely worth the drive from Evansville.

What an awesome gem!! This place has the most amazing atmosphere!! They are so nice and welcoming! I was in town visiting my very pregnant daughter when we randomly decided to go to New Harmony on Saturday December 27. While there spontaneously, we learned they had an upcoming cooking class scheduled for Monday December 29th. We decided to sign up and boy were we GLAD we did!! The best group of folks ever! It felt like we were one big family having a good old time!! The food was amazing and the vibe was everything!! We couldn't get enough of this place!! Marybeth, Kim and Erin were the best!! What an amazing team!! They were so good that we signed up for the class the next day and they did not disappoint! The whole experience was amazing!! Marybeth (the owner), is such a sweet, kind and fun loving person that you can't help but to want to sign up for every class she offers!! This place is a gem, you will not regret taking a class here!! One of my BEST EXPERIENCES EVER!! Thank you Capers Emporium!!

This is the neatest and cutest store with such a nice, quirky, cute variety of items for every occasion and baking needs. I bought this Dishwalla Chinese Five Spice, 3.5 ounce can that has lasted me a few years(worth thr price) and I've been adding it to most everything especially soup.

This place is absolutely fabulous !! The two ladies that own/operate it were super friendly and enjoyed chatting with my husband about pastries he likes to bake. They shared stories of the amazing work they do in the community they love and the joy they receive from doing them!! The Emporium has anything and everything! Capers Emporium feels like the center of the New Harmony universe! The store is filled with people who know and love New Harmony- when there’s something happening, the team at Capers is happy to share. Ohh you haven’t seen the labyrinth yet? Did you know there’s actually TWO in town? They’ll tell you all about it! Have you been to a cooking class here? We signed up for the tomato/tomatoe class on a Saturday evening. It was so much fun that we signed up for their cookie baking class the very next day! Sometimes recipes have so many ingredients and steps that it’s overwhelming. The recipes shared and made in class were fairly, dare I say, easy. Manageable ingredients, easy to follow recipe and a KNOCK OUT final product that your dinner guests will think you spent time/money/energy on! I didn’t know a tomato galette was not that difficult to make! And it turned out so beautifully! We were taught how to make a 5 minute cookie in the air fryer- who knew! The cooking classes at Capers were the highlight of my trip. The store itself is the Mecca for gifts- i like to think of it organized into departments: kitchen gadgets a plenty, coffee/tea paraphernalia, health and wellness, kids games and entertainment, the most beautiful cards and stationery, the funniest coasters, New Harmony memorabilia, trinkets and gadgets! If you can chat up Mary Beth, she’s the equivalent of the town mayor. Her team: Paula, Susie, Kim, Olivia are all wonderful and knowledgeable. And if they see you again, chances are they’ll remember your name. And they’ll ask if you ever got a chance to walk to labyrinth! Just such small town loveliness that you don’t get from the big city! If you can’t find it at Capers Emporium, you don’t need it;)

What a fun place to shop. If you walk too fast, you're going to miss so much packed all around you on the shelves. There are needful things, especially for the kitchen (that's why my wife loves the place), but much in the displays is just plain fun you didn't know you needed until you saw it. Great place to pick up gifts for those who "have everything." And the service is personable and warm.
